Bio
Kathleen is a compassionate survivor who is committed to promoting awareness, training, prevention, lifespan skills, and resources for those who have been sexually abused and those who listen and report.
Kathleen has an array of licenses and education that provide the insight and experience for Outcry Response. She is a Registered Nurse, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor, and certified with the National Board of Certified Counselors. Previouly, she has been a certified Family Life Educator.
Through the College of Education, Kathleen has earned a Master of Arts and a Master of Science in Counseling. In private practice, she worked primarily with people who have experienced childhood sexual abuse. She has utilized psychodrama and art therapy with a trauma informed approach.
Kathleen has developed a school wide health program and presented on sex addiction, suicide, depression referencing the geriatric depression scale, sexually transmitted diseases, hepatitis, HIV/AIDS, sexual abuse, school-based abuse reporting procedures, and senior adult sexuality. She has organized health fairs, worked with adults and adolescents on psychiatric units, and with the geriatric community. Kathleen has volunteered at a domestic violence shelter, a drug rehab home for women, homeless day center, Planned Parenthood, and the Methodist Church Human Sexuality program for junior high students and their parents.
Ms Davis recently worked in Palliative Care and Guest Relations at Houston Methodist Clear Lake Hospital. With Catholic Charities Senior Services, she had supervisory duties as Interim Director and Lead Case Manager. Kathleen has been a charge nurse in nursing homes and a case manager with hospice.
